Revision notes? -- Reception Theory&2 Step-Flow.

Reception Theory!
When it comes down to knowing what the reception theory is, I'll probably forget so I'm going to type a few revision notes up which are pretty basic to help me understand what they are so I don't forget. From what I took from the lesson, I believe that the reception theory is when a publisher, publishes something, so say a film maker for example. A film maker could make a film about guns and violent and make it really graphic and gory. They would have an idea on how they want it to portray to the audience of the film and would of kept this in mind, however the audience watching this film could interpret the message in some other way, such as, for example, they might watch the film and then believe that its good to go round shooting people, because that's the way they have took the message.

2 Step-Flow!
From what I can remember The 2 Step-Flow diagram is when something is being promoted to you, and because you don't know the person who is promoting you, it doesn't really sink in.{What they are talking about}. An example of this for example is when say someone who you don't know is selling a ''gillet mens razor". If you see someone you don't know selling a mens razor you wouldn't really be interested in the product because you aren't going to listen to who is selling it as you don't know them. Whereas if it was David Beckham selling the ''gillet mens razor'' people would take notice and David Beckham is seen as a nice guy, who people admire and see as a role-model. Alongside this you'd also listen to family and friends who are talking about a product instead of an advert with someone you don't know on it because you'd listen to them anyway and get more involved with what they are saying.
